Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a community-wide outreach organized by the following churches: Christ Lutheran, DeForest Christian Faith Moravian, Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran, St. Olaf's Catholic and Windsor United Church of Christ.

Heroes of Faith Vacation Bible School is offered each year during the first full week of August. 2008 dates are August 4-8 from 9-noon at Christ Lutheran Church. Registration forms will be available in April/May at each sponsoring church, call Cheryl at 846-9746 or the Christ Lutheran church office. Early registration is highly suggested as classes fill rapidly.

Three year olds through 5th grade students learns about one Hero of Faith each day. Through the use of storytelling, craft projects, music and worship lessons of faith are taught in age-appropriate ways.

Sixth grade students participate in a special Challenge Track. Their week includes both learning and service opportunities on site and at locations in the greater Madison area. These activities have included a team-building ropes course, visits to the funeral home, Dane County jail, Salvation Army Center and other places where faith is applied in daily living.

VBS requires many volunteers: Teachers, helpers, crafts, refreshments, etc. If you would like to help or have further questions regarding VBS please call the church office.
