3rd - 6th graders should bring their Bible to classes. Workshops are designed to allow the students practice in locating the scriptures in their Bibles.
The light meal cost is covered by a free-will offering. All are invited,
including parents and 7th and 8th grade catechism students who
don't have time to catch a meal before class.
How can I help with Youth Education?
There are many opportunities to help keep our hive buzzing. We can accommodate most people's schedules.
If you want to help every week, that's great!
If you want to help every other month or only on Sundays or Wednesdays, that's also great!
If you're a retiree who's gone for the winter and wants to help out in Spring and Fall, that's wonderful!
Rotation education is very flexible and there's a schedule
for everyone.
"BEE Keepers" take attendance, supervise children, assist with the module.
"BEE Leaders" present the bible story for one rotation and repeat the same story to different group of children each session (Sundays, Wednesdays or both days.) Materials are provided.
Servers: setup, serve and cleanup Wednesday evening meals.
Room Preparers: Before each class (Sundays and Wednesdays), check one (or more) rooms for needed supplies, wipe off tables, clean blackboards, etc. May be done at your convenience whenever church is open.
What is Rotation Education?
The workshop rotation model is a creative approach to Christian Education. The same Bible story is taught in different ways (workshops) rotating the participants to a different workshop each time they meet. A different Bible story and memory verse is studied each month. Workshops are offered in kid-friendly formats such as music & dance, games, arts/crafts, drama & puppets, theater, storytelling, computers, news & media, and kitchen. Each time youth attend they visit a different workshop. To learn more about rotation education visit
The same Bible story and memory verse are studied in every workshop for an entire month (or specified number of weeks). Youth are hearing the same Bible story
each time they attend a session.
Who can attend?
All children 3 years to 6th grade may attend. The cost is $10 per student. Financial assistance is available. You do not need to be a member of Christ Lutheran to join. Confirmation-age students may also enroll in the program but follow the confirmation track.
What does class time look like?
Workshops are offered on Sunday morning from 9:05 - 10:15 am and on Wednesday evening from 6-7:10 pm. Youth may attend any or all sessions. The sessions conclude with a closing praise celebration for youth and adults.
Wednesday Evening Meal
A light meal is served on Wednesdays (5:15 -5:50 pm) The cost is covered by a free-will offering. All are welcome! Children are expected to have a responsible adult attend with them. Family meal time is encouraged.
