The Christ
Lutheran Church Education Committee coordinates educational
programs and activities for youth ages 3 years through 6th grade These activities
include promoting Christian education in the home, the Glory
Bees Youth Education program, and Vacation
Bible School.
The same Bible story is taught in different ways (workshops) rotating the participants to a different workshop each time they meet. A different Bible story and memory verse is studied each month.
The model is offered for K-6. Preschool classes will be a "mini-rotation session" within assigned area. Classes for 7th, and 8th will also be offered on Sundays in a more traditional format.
Catechism Instruction Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:15 pm during the school year. There are no classes during the seasons of Advent
and Lent when students work on special projects. Class instruction focuses on the Old Testament one year and the New Testament the next. Luther's catechism is studied as it applies
to each testament. Students also complete Community Service Hours and Worship Notes following their attendance at worship services. Classes begin in September. The first class is an orientation session for students AND parents. Please contact the Pastors at the church office for more information or any member of the Youth Education Committee:
The Education Department also sponsors a variety of special events: Christmas program, Easter sunrise breakfast, Bible distribution to all 3rd grade students, Lenten coin drive, food drives, turkey scavenger hunt, Christmas giving tree, and maintain youth library.
