What is the DeForest Elderly Housing Southbound
Residence?
Many years ago Pastor Olson spearheaded an effort to seek a federal HUD grant to build a housing facility for low-income elderly. This effort resulted in a 20-unit apartment building at the end of Southbound Drive south of Vinburn Road.
Pastor Olson is actively involved in managing this residence facility. Our pastors, members of our congregation and five community members make up the managing board. We have been very fortunate to have all 20 apartment occupied with a waiting list for possible openings. If you are interested in viewing the apartments or have other questions, please contact the church office.
The Cemetery on River Road
Many of our new members do not realize that we operate a cemetery. The cemetery is at the original site of our congregation and is owned jointly by Norway Grove Memorial Church and Christ Lutheran. There is a cemetery board made up of 3 members from each congregation. If you have questions regarding the cemetery please contact the church office.
